Sometimes, there are songs that simply capture you....they could be simple and too sentimental, or maybe too sappy for others to take them seriously...but they are so sweet and loving, and have such a beautiful melody, that they have to stay in your hear (and your head) forever.
This is exactly what happens to me with the song "Distance", a nice ballad passionately sung by Jason Scheff. It was recorded in some moment between 2003 and 2004, and it was released to a japanese compilation album.
This is what I would call a breeezy, mellow song, with a powerful melody, and tender vocals by Jason. The melody is simple and it showly grows and gets a sweet complexity. It has a nice piano introduction that quikly changes into a guitar intro, and after the second chorus, there is a beautiful guitar solo that adds power to the song. Jason's voice is very sweet and passionate, as always. The lyrics are very romantic, they could be easy to figure out and remember for most people, and many persons can relate to them.
This song could easily be put on a romantic scene of a movie to enhace the emotion of the momen; it could be the musical theme of a soap opera, or even be put at the end of the movie, when the credits start to appear. I felt the need of expressing my thoughts about this song, because it has stayed in my mind for so many days and I constantly can hear it in my mind.
This song is what I could say, a caress for the soul. It's so lovely and a little jewel to be always heard. It's really a pleasure. Thank you Jason, for recording yet another pretty song.
